The main purpose of the Blair House Student Hostel Inc. is to provide a supportive and caring environment for the students whose homes are remote from upper primary and secondary schools.
Blair House Student Hostel in Clermont is one of only three hostels left in Queensland and caters for all remote and rural students wishing to attend primary and secondary schools locally.
Situated on a large site within short walking distance to St. Josephs Catholic School, Clermont State School and Clermont State High School, Blair House Student Hostel caters for male and female students attending years 5 to 12, and of all faiths.
Students will be accommodated in single rooms. Each block is supervised by live-in house parents at all times. Each accommodation block includes a communal kitchen, dining area, lounge area and laundry. Each room provides an ensuite bathroom, walk-in wardrobe, a single bed, air conditioner, ceiling fan and a built-in desk with chair.
The facility also provides a large commercial kitchen, dining hall, designated study area with laptops connected to the internet for use by the students to do research for their homework. There is also a large recreational area with a pool table, ping pong tables, large flat screen television with Netflix, a games room and lots of sporting equipment including a large trampoline.
